Will you translate the "Unsex Me Here" soliloquy from Macbeth into modern English(today English)?
I need to memorize it, but I don’t know what it means except for the "unsex me here" part.

LADY MACBETH

Give him tending;
He brings great news.

Exit Messenger
The raven himself is hoarse
That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan
Under my battlements. Come, you spirits
That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,
And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full
Of direst cruelty! make thick my blood;
Stop up the access and passage to remorse,
That no compunctious visitings of nature
Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between
The effect and it! Come to my woman’s breasts,
And take my milk for gall, you murdering ministers,
Wherever in your sightless substances
You wait on nature’s mischief! Come, thick night,
And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell,
That my keen knife see not the wound it makes,
Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark,
To cry ‘Hold, hold!’

Enter MACBETH
Great Glamis! worthy Cawdor!
Greater than both, by the all-hail hereafter!
Thy letters have transported me beyond
This ignorant present, and I feel now
The future in the instant.

MACBETH

My dearest love,
Duncan comes here to-night.

LADY MACBETH

And when goes hence?

The lines start at "Exit Messenger"
Lines 1-2:The raven that would portend the death of King Duncan is hoarse from crying out so much because it is imminent.
Lines 3-4: She calls spirits to remove her woman-ness and more broadly her humanity.
Lines 5-6:Make me cruel and unfeeling
Lines 7-9: Make me feel no remorse so that no compulsion from human nature shall sway me away from my purpose
Lines 10-11: Come and take my nourishing milk and replace it with gall(also known as black bile was one of the four humours, in this time period it is associated with melancholy and would be little to no help to anyone as opposed to the milk that nourishes and feeds, she is asking to have her motherly feelings removed again. She could also be asking for yellow bile which is associated with rage, either way its bad for Duncan) you evil spirits!
Lines 12-13: Who wait for evil to be done in the human world
Lines 13-17: Come night! and hide our future dark deeds from even Heaven itself so that none may stop us!
Lines 18-22: (Praising Macbeth) Better than the two that previously held your titles or any who will again! Your letters have affirmed my ambition and I see a bright future ahead!

3:10 to Yuma (1957) is excellent

Rio Bravo (1959) is good.

Winchester ‘73 is good if your a James Stewart fan.

many of these are pretty good movies but I don’t know how interesting or difficult it would be to write about them.

Oh my, you missed Once Upon a Time in the West.

If I were going to pick just one I’d say "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" its the middle film of John Ford’s cavalry trilogy and a great classic. (Fort Apache and Rio Grande are the other two).
Plutonium Blonde | Mar 10, 2009

They Died With Their Boots On
or

Drums Along the Mohawk ( which is more eastern frontier than western but still a good one )

Unforgiven (1992)

Of your list, Henry Fonda is good in The Return of Frank James. However, for a film study class, I would probably choose The Gunfighter with Gregory Peck as Jimmy Ringo.
