Is this religious claim "true"?
Ok so, i’m a teenager, read the bible, raised catholic, confirmed, but i’m an atheist. Say what you will blah blah blah this is what i believe, and i stick behind it. My friends and i are pretty sophisticated for our age and constantly discuss politics, religion, and other things. However, some people say i shouldn’t talk about these things because i’m an "aggressive" atheist. but that’s beside the point. anyway, one day me and a friend of mine were talking in gym class about theories and other such nonsense as to the creation of the world and the universe itself. They were for the most part mainstream theories however he had brought something up i had never heard of. I can’t remember the name but apparently a long while back a man came up with mathematical proof that a god exists. Now i still think this is a bullshit claim however i really want to read up on this. I figured asking here would make the most sense. I don’t want to hear religious junk just tell me what you know about this "equation"

It is up to the people who make that claim to provide evidence. (Of course, they cannot – it was a lie).

Well, there has been a mathematician who did some math, waved his hands, and called it a proof. I’ll see if I can find the name.
edit: If it was Goedel, that’d be kind of ironic, since he disproved omniscience with his incompleteness theorem.

I’ve never heard of such an equation, but I don’t think it’s possible to quantify God with math. They use math to define things that they can already detect, but God isn’t part of our physical universe. He is a spiritual being. How do you measure that? You can’t.

Can I give you some advice that works whether you’re a Christian or an atheist? You catch more flies with honey. Be passionate about your beliefs; just don’t be a jerk about it. Believe what you believe, but don’t become arrogant about it and start looking down on others who don’t believe like you. It’s ugly and irritating when Christians do that; believe me when I say, it’s just as bad coming from an atheist.

One thing is for sure. You have never been a Christian and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, since if you have that, you do not leave. Many Catholic friends of mine have asked a lot of questions from me about the Bible…like "What is the difference between New Testament and Old Testament?". That shows me how little they know about the Bible, and they can call themselves Catholics but they are not with Christ.
No one has been coming with the mathematic formula that proofs there is a god. There is only one true God and not "a god". He is real if you believe in Him or not. One thing is for sure: He loves you and He would like to have you but He will send your sophisticated yourself to hell if you do not choose heaven. Pay attention what He says because He is in promise keeping business.
I believe you will learn a lot about God when you study His Word. When you will have Holy Spirit guiding you will learn much more than when you rely on your own sophisticated and intellectual understanding. There is not shortcuts into a spiritual maturity, give it time.

I have heard of that, but it was disproved by other mathematitians. Apparently, it was another metaphysical "proof."
However….
Recently, scientists working at the large scale level (cosmologists), and the tiny scale (sub-atomic physicists) that are really, really far into the math are finding something in the math that looks very much like God. Not proof yet; there is still a lot of work to be done. However, it appears, at both levels, that there is something that is not yet understood, but has the characteristics you would expect of God. Many of these scientists have come to faith through their work.

While the tour goes on, the relationship between June and John grow more,and his marriage to his first wife ends. June finds out about the drugs, and help him overcome it. True love and care helped John eventually stop the drug usage, and finally proposes to her in front of an audience at a show. |

Akira Kurosawa. The greatest director ever. Nearly all of his movies are considered classics. Many of his movies were remade in America or influences American Cinema:
Yojimbo, based on Red Harvest, was remade as Eastwood’s A Fistful of Dollars and Bruce Willis’ Last Man Standing.
The Hidden Fortress and it’s two bumbling characters were the influence on George Lucas for Star Wars and C3PO and R2-D2.
He was able to turn Shakespeare into Japanese Period pieces: The Throne of Blood was his take on Macbeth and Ran (Chaos) was his take on King Lear.
His movie Rashomon was the first movie to show the same incident but from differing point of views, later remade as The Outrage with Paul Newman. It also influenced Zhang Yimou’s Hero.
The Seven Samurai, one of the greatest action movies ever made was remade as The Magnificent Seven.
Many, many great directors list Kurosawa as a undeniable influence on modern film making.
I will never tire of watching his movies…

Apparently it aired back in March, but they’re playing it on TV now. It’s called "Locked In." It really seems like they tried to copy some of the concepts and even the way it is filmed. What do you think?
